On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities / Tasks

• Assist the restaurant manager in planning, organizing, directing and controlling daily restaurant operations

• Supervise kitchen and front-of-house staff and oversee food preparation and service during assigned shifts

• Prepare staff work schedules and assign daily duties

• Train new staff in service standards, food handling and safety procedures

• Monitor staff performance and provide input for performance reviews

• Assist in recruiting and hiring staff

• Monitor inventory and order food, ingredients, beverages, and kitchen and cleaning supplies

• Assist in preparing the budget and controlling food, beverage and labour costs

• Balance cash, reconcile daily sales and prepare reports for the restaurant manager

• Ensure health, safety and food safety regulations are followed

• Enforce provincial liquor legislation and regulations

• Address customers' complaints or concerns

• Manage restaurant operations in the absence of the restaurant manager
